Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Collins who is also known as Antonietta Gonzalez-Collins in both the US as well as Mexico, is a Mexican-American sportscaster. She anchors SportsNation and is a SportsCenter anchor. She started working for ESPN in the year 2016. Her mother is the TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta is a native bilingual. Since she was nine years old, Collins's capacity to converse in two languages led to her obtaining a job in Miami as an assistant production at Univision. In this role she was able to work with national producers such as Nuestra Belleza Latina. Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Then she was promoted to reporter for The CBS St. Petersburg affiliate in the following year. She moved from St. Petersburg to Rio Grande Valley in 2009 to work as a reporter on KNVO TV 48 Univision. Deportes 23 is Univision Dallasstation, which is where she is more responsible. She wrote pieces for sports like the NBA, Dallas Cowboys' postseason, NBA ALDS ALCS World Series or Finals FC Dallas. In addition, she also hosted and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. She worked as the sports anchor of Despierta America Deportes morning show. She also served as anchor of the sports segment in Primer Impacto, a magazine program that airs on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collin's parents are originally from Veracruz Mexico. The family moved towards Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born on November 1985. She also has an older sister. In 1992 the family left Mexico to the US and settled in Miami. Soon after, her parents separated and, in 1995 Fabio Fajardo got married again. He died of kidney cancer in the year 2006. The summer in 2006 she took a week with her sister in Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was employed at the time. Antonietta still a senior at high school but she was clear about the career she wanted. So while assessing if Mount Union would be a good fit for her, Antonietta decided to go visit the campus. The result was that she enjoyed the university, and the university provided the degree she was looking for. After graduation, she attended the university with a media studies major. Mark Bergmann - her professor - was also the managing director at WRMU (91.1 FM) in which she was a part of. He encouraged her to believe in herself and his passion in journalism was a huge influence on her. She in turn, strived to meet his expectations and never fail him.
